Chris Barber
Chief Operating Officer
Chris brings over 30 years of operations, supply chain and leadership experience to his role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Portal he served as Vice President, Global Supply Chain for Insulet Corporation, makers of Omnipod, a disposable insulin patch pump. At Insulet he oversaw all manufacturing operations performed by a third party manufacturer in China as well as managed engineering and automation, distribution/warehousing operations and purchasing. Chris was deeply involved in Insulet’s partnership with Amgen, providing specialized “on body injectors” used to dispense a post chemotherapy treatment drug that helps reduce risk of infection. Chris also spent 10 years working for Abbott Vascular where he managed manufacturing operations in California, Ireland, Germany, and Puerto Rico. Prior to his medical device career, Chris served 22 years in the US Navy as a logistics officer and retired with the rank of Captain. Chris earned his MBA at San Diego State University and BA in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame.
